Rezoning Application? Sign

Aside from the loss of parks and recreation land in the core of the community, that is against the city policy on parks and recreation (see policy below), this is anything but low density.

As can be seen by the red outline on the sign above, The city is zoning this property for 16 Multiple family dwelling units.  The actual number is 32, 16 units with two families per unit.  By the size of the adjacent lots this property would be 3 to 4 single family units for low density.  For those who don't know, this is a 60 year old subdivision with very few houses that have major renovations done to update them.  A new complex of this size on this property simply does not fit this subdivision.

This property is well used for recreation despite the claims of the city.  I have never seen, or am aware, of any survey that has been done by the city of the tennis courts to assess their utilisation. This is March 26, 2011.  There have been families and kids playing on the court 8 out of the last 10 days.  Multiple generations of families have raised their children on this tennis court.  It will be an absolute shame, a travesty, if the property is rezoned.
